Payten's Surgery

I know I said weekly updates but clearly I can't even get to those these days.  Maybe a monthly one?!  

Payten had surgery about two weeks ago.  She had an infected tooth that needed to be removed.  We saw several dentists for a few opinions, most of them wanted to do the removal {general anesthesia} in their office but I just didn't feel comfortable with that. We finally found a pediatric dentist that we loved and she would perform the surgery at Arnold Palmer hospital.  Ahh finally!  It took a few weeks to get her on the surgery schedule but it was worth the wait because what an amazing experience we had at Arnold Palmer. Every nurse or doctor that we dealt with was AMAZING and went above and beyond to make Payten happy.  They truly have an amazing gift to be so good with children like that.

Payten's actual surgery went really well.  It only lasted about an hour.  They even cleaned her teeth while they were in there.  One less appointment we'll have to make for 6 months :-).  She was a little out of it from the anesthesia but by the next day she was good as new!

I am so glad this is behind us because I was an absolute wreck over this whole thing.

Just pure CRAZINESS!

Where do I even begin?!  My poor ole blog is getting absolutely no attention lately.  :-(  Every time I sit down to start a post something pulls me in the other direction!

It's been extremely busy around here!  Between school, extracurricular activities, my side business, house chores, fall events... oh yeah and sick kids and a kid almost breaking her finger!  So lots of doctors appointments in there too!  Ahhhh!

We've been enjoying the fall activities in town so that has been keeping us busy as well.  It seems like as soon as October hits it becomes absolutely crazy around here.

Torture

Have I mentioned that being on bed rest is like pure torture for me? I do not do well with getting orders to do NOTHING. Don't get me wrong I like some downtime but I've had enough! Although I still have many more days to go.... Ugh. 

I feel for my poor husband that is playing Mr. Mom. Of course he doesn't mind but I feel bad everything is getting put on him :-(

The weather has been beautiful here too so being stuck indoors is even worse. Speaking of.. The girls wanted to go in the backyard yesterday to play and right before they were going out, Sean noticed a raccoon in the backyard. I freaked!!!! Called animal control and of course they won't remove them, we had to have a private company come out here. $375... yes $375 later we now have traps set up all over our fence line and the girls can't go back there and play for about 10 days or so.... Urgh stupid rodents!

Since I've had a ton of down time I've been pinning away on Pinterest so I have a few projects I want to try when I am feeling better :-) A few easter ones I really can't wait to try!!

Home and resting

Yesterday was my surgery... Surgery went pretty well I just wish I did better with the anesthesia :-(.

My surgery was at 9a... Had a little late start but was in recovery by noon. Things were going okay in recovery until it was time for me to stand up. I made it a few steps before telling the nurse and Sean I was going to pass out.. Within seconds my face was whiter then a ghost and my knees started to buckle. They got me back in bed and hooked me back up and gave me more anti nausea medicine and some fluids to flush out the anesthesia. Then it was round two... Headed the bathroom made it to the restroom then Sean was helping me get my clothes on... I made it to getting one article,of clothing on before I passed out yet again... Ugh! Back to the room I go. Hooked up again and more fluids. My blood,pressure kept dropping every times I would get up. I have low blood pressure as it is so it doesn't help :-(. Of course because of all the fluid they were giving me I had to,use the bathroom. Got up again was fine to and from the bathroom until I got back to my room and down again I went... I just couldn't believe it was happening again. More fluids and monitoring, the nurse said if my blood pressure keeps dropping I will have to stay the night... Really? This is supposed to be outpatient procedure not overnight...FML!

Finally my blood pressure was going back to normal I still felt a little off but just wanted to go home so I touched it out. Finally arrived at 5p.. Ate my first meal for the day and I have been in bed ever since. I have a funny feeling I'll be here for several days :-(

Lately

This week is my surgery.  It's scheduled for Thursday morning.  I will be glad when its over so I can stop anticipating it.  I am not a fan of anesthesia, AT ALL, so that is the part that I am most scared about.  From what I have heard the recovery isn't too bad and I just be good in a few days.  Of course no lifting but I'll be up and around.  I am going to take this time to just rest because lets be honest its not something I do often.

It's definitely birthday party season around here.  We have a birthday party to attend every weekend this month, including Payten's of course!  Which speaking of, is coming up super quick!  I am almost ready for it, with the exception of the final headcount for the goodie bags.  But pretty much everything is in place.  I am trying to think of cute centerpiece ideas.... I think I have something but I need to make sure it'll work!

The girls are doing great in school.  Payten is learning how to read.  Its awesome seeing how much shes learned at school.  She is quite the math pro at school.  Just like her momma :-).  Camryn is doing awesome as well.  I amazed at how much she knows at this age.  Starting her in school early has definitely paid off.  I think she has FINALLY gotten the whole pooping on the potty down.  We do have quite the routine but it seems to be working, and only having another accident every once in a while. 

I am sooo excited about going on a cruise for my 30th!  I had been going back and forth on what I wanted to do for the BIG 3-0... I really just want to relax with my family and hang out.  Theirs nothing I love more then sitting on a beach with a fruity cocktail and playing in the sand & water with the girls.  So that's what I'll be doing!  We will be sailing on Royal Caribbeans new ship, Allure of the Seas... so excited because I have heard AWESOME things about this ship.  I can't wait!

Unexpected...

I had all intentions of finishing up my blog post from our trip/Christmas but due to getting sick and finding out I need to get some testing done, it looks like my blog might be taking a bask seat for a bit.  I did however get some future posts done before this all came about so there will be "some" posting.  Keep me in your prayers as I await the results to the tests.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  I hope to have lots of pictures from my sisters Baby Shower this weekend :-)

TGIF!

What a week!  Just pure craziness!  When the sickies in this house, they hit hard :-(.  Poor Camryn has the flu.  I feel so horrible for her.  She is miserable.  I am hoping it passes soon so I can have my sweet Cami back!  We already started Payten on the preventative medicine that way hopefully she doesn't catch it.  Now my hubby and I have to hope we don't get it.. :-/

Since we'll be spending the weekend home hoping that the sickies go away we'll have lots of time on our hands, so looks like we'll start decorating for Christmas.  I hate to do it before Thanksgiving but since we have the time we mind as well get started.  It usually takes some time to finish everything.  My hubby and I are a bit obsessed with decorating for Christmas.  Stay tuned to pics... I am sure there will be a ton :-)

What a week!!

Did you ever have one of those weeks that you want it to just start over?!  Well I am DEFINITELY having one of those!  I had high hopes that it would be a good week since I had such a great weekend celebrating my birthday.  But I wasn't that lucky :-(

Sunday night Payten had a fever, got pretty high at one point.  It was 103.2.  It was around 2am, the hubby and I had cold washcloths all over Payten to help bring her fever down.  She did finally go back to sleep after 45 minutes or so.  Of course she stayed home from school on Monday.  She had no other symptoms other then a fever, which to me is so weird!  Her fever disappeared on Monday and was fine all through the night and even on Tuesday morning.  She begged us to go to school and since was fever free I thought she would be okay.  She was okay until Tuesday night and he fever spiked again.  Ugh!  I had enough of this crazy fever thing, so we went to the doctor today.  They checked her for the flu and strep and both were negative.  He felt her glands and they are swollen and diagnosed her with a throat infection.   I am hoping the antibiotics kick this nasty thing away so we can enjoy our LONG weekend!

In the middle of all the sickies.  There is new construction in our area and the wonderful construction men cut the cable lines.  We had no cable/internet/phone for over 6 hours!  It makes working from home VERY hard!  

Today I am off to the dentist for some dental work.  Ahhh, my least favorite thing to do EVER!!  Wish me luck!

Now I am hoping all the sickies go away and stay away so we have a great weekend with friends!!!  Hope everyone's week is a little better then mine :-)

Sickies!

Just when I get back to blogging we get a HORRID case of the sickies in the house. Of course I had it the worst. I had a fever for SIX days straight, even landed myself in the ER on Wednesday evening since my fever was 103.5. It was quite scary. After 6 hours in the ER they were finally able to get my fever down. I am still not a 100% yet but hoping in the next few days I will be good as new. Now of course the girls have caught it. Camryn caught it Saturday, and spent the weekend home with her Daddy. And now Payten is going through it. She still has a fever but I am hoping it breaks today.

I have lots to blog about so hopefully I can catch up soon! Happy Tuesday!

I have been MIA. . .

due to the wonderful world of sickies! And this time its not the girls its ME! And totally stinks! Wednesday evening I started to feel ehhh, and decided to self medicate with some over the counter allergy meds. Well by the middle of the night my throat was throbbing. I felt awful. First thing Thursday morning I called the doctor and got an appointment for 8:30a. I was out by 9:15 and off to the pharmacy I went with my FIVE prescriptions, yes FIVE! Two antibiotics, allergy meds, and some others. I thought since there were so many they would work instantly and boy was I wrong... its now days later and I still don't feel 100%, urgh. I hope it all goes away soon and I back to my old self.

In the meantime, lots has happened and will post more later about some new exciting things going on with the Florida Hogans! Happy Monday!

And this is how our past few days have been. .

Camryn has been miserable! Well I can't say all the time but about 90% of it. I have no idea whats going on with her. I keep thinking its her molars that are coming in but I just have no idea, so after a few day of this I will be taking her to the pedi this morning. I swear I think I have been in there once a week for the past month. Ugh! I hope its nothing but I want to make sure before Payten's birthday party tomorrow! TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another one of those weeks....

It's only Tuesday and feels like it should be Friday!!!! I am so ready for the weekend already.

Payten had a little incident at school today with one of the girls in her class. The little girl hit her in the face with a chair :-( Her poor little face has a horrible red mark on it. I hope it heals soon. When I went to pick her up, she said "Mommy, ______ (child's name) hit me with a chair in my face, it hurt really bad, but she didn't mean it"... I wanted to bust out in tears. I saw she was so upset but was okay. Meanie kids, just kidding! Hoping our week gets better over here!

I hate sickies!

We had such a fun weekend celebrating Camryn's 1st birthday, so of course it is followed by the case of the sickies, oh yeah and a ouchie too!

Camryn had been running a fever for a few days but it had finally broke. I thought we were in the clear, until I went to get her out of bed yesterday and she had little red dots all over her! Poor thing has been miserable. :-( And to top it off she has a nice black eye from her older loving sister :-) It was an accident of course, but I feel horrible that Camryn can't cut a break. Hopefully everything will clear up just in time for her 1st Birthday on Thursday. Hoping the week gets better for our baby girl!

Dear Followers...

I promise I have not forgot about you all.... We had a great day on Saturday, but unfortunately Camryn and I have caught something, so we have been spending time in bed trying to get better. I promise to post about our fun day on Saturday soon... Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Update: Sean's Surgery

Sean's surgery went well. He is recovering just fine. He is up and about, and enjoying time with the girls. Thank you everyone for the prayers and well wishes.
