We're moved!!!

We finally closed on the house on Thursday and its been crazy ever since! Friday we did lots of painting and moving of little things. Saturday was the BIG day! We started at 8am. Loaded up the first truck and got to the new house at around 2p. We unloaded, had some pizza and the guys went back to the old house to get another load. They got the entire 24 ft truck loaded, and it was packed to the gills! And the truck wouldn't start..... go figure!

My hubby called the 24 hour hotline and they sent out a mechanic only to find out that they couldn't fix the truck that night and we would hear from someone in the morning. . . Well my hubby called Budget at 7a and said they were sending someone out there, well now its 11am and nothing. The gentlemen that came out the night before called my hubby and asked him if someone had to come fix it or at least towed it for us and of course they did not. The guy called my hubby back to say he was on the way to tow the truck to the new house for us.

They finally arrived at 2p and we unloaded another load. There was still some stuff left at the house so my hubby went back with our truck to grab as much as he could. Needless to say this was the longest move EVER!!!!!!

We are finally getting settled but I am sure it'll be a few weeks before everything is complete. Stay tuned for before and after pictures!

A break

I should totally be packing right now but I need a break! I feel like all I have been doing is organizing and packing! And I still have a ways to go!!!!!!!!!!! Its crazy to see how much stuff we really do have. And what is even crazier is that we are not keepers. I donate, sell, throw away just about everything, I just don't get it!

The closing on the house is tomorrow. We have been luckily enough to get into the house early thanks to the awesome sellers. So the hubby has been painting his little heart away! Here is a little sneak peek to Payten's room. Loving the way its coming out. So far Payten, Camryn's, the girls bathroom, and the office is painted. Still lots to do but its coming along.

I am sure it'll be days or even maybe a week before you hear from me again so I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

It's Moving Sale Day!

Today is the day of our "Moving" sale. We had picked this date thinking we would close on the 15th but since that is most likely not happening we decided to go through with it anyway. We want to be prepared just in case they actually do come through and get us closed by next week.

So the hubby and I will be out in the heat all day sweltering. Let's hope all of our BIG items sell so its less we have to move!!!!!!!!

Doesn't look good. . .

Well its Friday and no word from the sellers bank so I am pretty sure we won't be closing on Monday, sigh! I am beyond disgusted with this whole process. This has been going on since February!!! SIX MONTHS!!!!!!!!! This is ridiculous! But I guess its out of our control and we just have to sit and wait some more. I am praying we here from them soon so we can finally close!!! Happy Friday, I think?!

And now this is what the house looks like due to no one living there since February!!! We have lots of work on the outside as well now :-(

Payten's New Room Idea

When we move into our new house Payten will be getting a new room color scheme. Since she is almost 4, we are ready for a change. Although it'll be hard to beat her room now. It's amazing! My husband did an awesome job on her checkerboard wall.

Her new color scheme will be pink and yellow. My husband wants to do an accent wall in her new room. Below is what he was thinking he'll do. Along with some white chair rail. The rest of the walls will be pink.

We went with a Pottery Barn Kids set for her bedding. The picture below is the crib bedding set but we bought it for a full size bed. It's so pretty in person. We can't wait to see the finished product!

It's official. . .

we are moving! We finally have a closing date after about 6 months!!! August 15th is the big day! Lots to do before we actually move. My house is a complete disaster!

Off I go again to do some more packing. . . . when will it end?!

Let the decorating ideas begin!!

Furniture Shopping

Of course with a new house comes NEW ideas, and new furniture of course! We are not getting all new furniture but some! Since we have had most of it since we moved 6 years ago its time for a change!

The first piece that is already ordered and is a must since our couch is ruined is a new sectional.

I fell in love with this one from Ashely Furniture. I have been wanting a dark leather sectional for a while now but could never find one I like. And the best part is you can order more pieces to make it bigger. Love that feature! Now if we would just a get a closing date so I can enjoy this new couch!

Our next MUST purchase is a new kitchen table. This is something I am having a hard time deciding on! Right now we have a rectangle table and will not work in the new hosue so it must be round. The shape is not the problem its the color/wood that is the problem. Our kitchen table now is Espresso and the poor table looks like its been through the war. And its only three years old :-( I am glad I didn't spend much for it but still three years later and it looks awful :-( I have came across a few like I like for looks but not sure how durable they are.

This table will probably take a beating like my other one did but I just love it. I am all into black furniture now. This one is from American Signature.

A new dining room set isn't a must get but I am looking at something different. Whether or not we get it is a whole other story. We'll see how things go but I LOVE this set from American Signature. Black again of course :-) I love the hutch with this set!

Closing date. . .

Our closing date has come and gone... and we are still not any closer to moving. Ugh! Still waiting on hearing back from the bank. What a pain! I mean seriously?! Don't the banks want to get rid of these homes? Urgh! Not much we can do as this point but to sit and wait..... so in the meantime we are packing away and brainstorming some new decorating ideas for the new house!

The first two rooms we are going to tackle are the girls rooms. Camryn's will be pretty simple she is keeping the same color scheme/theme. Since her room is pretty new and I love the colors we are going to paint the same in her new room. But maybe instead of the chair rail painting two walls green and the other two pink, we'll see.

Payten will be getting a new room. I was wanting to change her room here but since the hubby put so much work into her painting in her room I could never talk him into changing it, so this is my chance... :-) Here new bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids, pink & yellow. This is the nursery bedding but she has full/queen set. I am still thinking of how to paint it. Any ideas??

Buying a house = Frustrating

Who would have known that this would be a longggggggggg drawn out process?! NOT ME! It's been about six weeks since we put a bid in on this house. The bank has "verbally" accepted our offer but now we wait for the final approval. Ugh! They call these short sales but they should rename them to LONG sales! Geez! I wouldn't be in such a rush if my house didn't have boxes and look like a total disaster but I am not sure how much longer I can live like this before I lose my mind! I am praying we get the final approval soon and a real closing date! Stay tuned!

In the meantime, here are a few pictures of the new house. . . Please excuse the pictures, not taken with the best camera and its hard to take pictures of just walls... haha.

Please excuse. . .

my lack of posting over the past few weeks. And I am sure it will continue over the next month or so as we are going through this whole moving process. Don't worry we are still going to be the Florida Hogan's but we are relocating to another part of the state, and not even too far just about 45 minutes or so. Just close enough to that my husbands work commute doesn't take over an hour to get to each way :-)

Lots of things going on here... lots of emotions flying all over the place. One minute I am super excited about moving and the next I am sobbing uncontrollably. Go figure! I am an emotional basket case!

The boxes everywhere are overwhelming me. As my hubby is packing, I stand there staring, like is this really happening? Growing up my family stayed in our house our entire childhood so I do not know what its like to just pick up and move. I think that is why I am having such a hard time. I know in the end this is the best choice for our family but as we are going through it I can't help to just sit and think of all the firsts we have had in this house as a family, and that in itself is so hard for me. So I am hoping with the coming weeks all my sadness will fade and it will be filled with all happiness, but we'll see.

Our new house is beautiful! Love, love, love it! Of course it needs to have some touches added to it to feel like our home and not just a home. Our plan is do all the painting, well at least most, before we move in that way we can have a easy move. But we'll see how it goes. Everything always sounds great when you say it but when you actually get to it, its a whole other thing :-)

In the meantime here is a picture of the front of the house. More pictures to come soon! :-)

And it's up . . .

The "For Rent" sign is finally up! It's something the hubby and I have been talking about for months and we finally have followed through. This is a picture of it before it actually was put up but its now official. We have heard from three different people that are interested so we are in the process of showing them the house, and we'll go from there.

Right now we do not have another house to move to so we are trying to get working on that. Yesterday we did go out with a Realtor and looked at several houses and in different neighborhoods to get a feel of what we would like. So its a starting point. I am sure in the months to come we'll see a ton more houses and hopefully we'll be putting an offer on one soon! Stay tuned! Happy Sunday!!

Think I am ready. . .

for a change. Like a BIG change! I have spent the last 8+ years living in Florida and I have absolutely loved it, until the past few months. I want to go back to having SEASONS and not just summer and winter. Most of all I miss the fall! By far my favorite season of them all. I do not particularly love the winters but I do love layering up. I know I am weird. The hubby and I have discussed relocating, but unfortunately with this horrible housing market it is not an option at this very moment but we are definitely keeping our options open. I would miss our Florida family and friends dearly but that is why they have airplanes and internet, and of course Skype!

Although right now this is a just a thought. But we are hoping to bring on a change of living within a few years. So in the meantime I will just look at all the cute fall clothes, and watch the leaves change color in my imagination..... :-)
