"Tangled" theme birthday ideas!

Since Payten is having a "Tangled" themed birthday party I have been checking out some cute ideas on Pinterest. :-) I'd love to have one of these cakes but I am thinking they are pretty pricey not to mention there is not much cake to these and we are having around 40-50 people. But still super cute!

Recipe: Two Timin Pasta Bake

TWO TIMIN’ PASTA BAKE

1 box Penne pasta

1 (15 oz.) jar Alfredo sauce

1 (24oz.) jar Marinara sauce

2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Cook pasta according to directions and drain. Mix the sauces together in a large bowl.

Add the mozzarella and stir to combine. Then toss in the penne and toss to coat.

Pour pasta into 9x13 baking dish and cook on 350 for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly. Remove from oven and sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese and bake for another 5 minutes.

**We tried this last week and it was pretty good! The girls liked it too! Will definitely be making this again soon!

Our Weekend & Colby's Birthday Party

It was a pretty low key weekend this weekend! Friday night the hubby and I caught up on some house chores and then got to enjoy some TV time just the two of us. It was nice to have some downtime with him. It doesn't happen often. We are usually always running around on the weekends.

Saturday after dance class my parents and aunt came for a day visit. It was great to see them. The girls LOVE when they visit! But of course sad to see them go :-(

Sunday morning was spent catching up on laundry and finishing up a few more house chores. After lunch Payten and I headed to Colby's Princess Birthday party. It was lots of fun and super cute! Payten said she wants to have her party there next year. :-)

We are a little behind the ball this time around, but we need to get Camryn into a big girl bed. She turned two in October and to be honest I haven't put one thought into it until the other day. But considering Payten was in a big girl bed at 2 years and 1 month, I think its Camryn's turn.

But. . . I need to build the courage, LOL. Camryn sleeps so well in her crib so I am little apprehensive about moving her to a big girl bed. I am sure it'll be at least a few weeks before we transition but I need to start getting things together.

Camryn's crib does turn into a daybed so for now we will convert it but will then look into a regular twin bed. I am search for a twin headboard that is Antique white. It's not an easy color to find so I am sure I have my work cut out for me.

I have picked out a few bedding ideas but still not 100% just yet. So in the meantime I'll keep looking. I would like to keep the color scheme the same and just add different accents.

Stay tuned to the outcome of this transition as I am sure it will be a HUGE adjustment!!

It's been quite crazy around here lately. The weeks have just been flying by! Are we really already into our 3 week of the year already? Just crazy!

Uniquely Me has been pretty busy lately so that has been taking up most of my free time. I am trying to stay on time of blogging but unfortunately its been hard to juggle everything. I am possibly thinking of maybe a weekly update, but we'll see how things go. This weekend was the first time I have actually picked up my camera all year. I am so upset with myself. :-( With lots of events going on the next couple of weeks I am sure I will make up for it!

Our weekend was a fun one! Saturday we got to celebrate Rylie's 4th Birthday! We had lots of fun! The girls just LOVE this place! The adults were having a blast as well I think maybe even more fun then the kids, haha.

Yesterday we spent the evening watching the Giants/Packers game, and of course since I am Giants fan I was ecstatic that they won! Of course my hubby was pretty bummed but it shows the better team actually won, haha. :-)

I caved.... I went to Kirkland's this weekend and bought the bookcase, well in this case a picture holder, LOL. I am not even close to be done finishing this, just trying to get a feel for it. I will post pictures when I am finished!

It's actually been a pretty relaxing weekend around here. We actually have had no plans all weekend except for Payten's dance class Saturday morning. However I have been making banners all weekend. But totally worth it since I'll be mailing 4 tomorrow morning! Woo hoo!

Uniquely Me has been super busy lately. It's so awesome! We also have a new logo for our business. It's super cute! We look forward to what this year has to bring for our business!

It's that time again... Birthday party planning! This time its for Payten. I still can't believe my first born is turning FOUR!! That is just insane! These past four years have flown by!! In the years before I pretty much picked the theme to Payten's parties but not this year. There was no changing her mind. Tangled it is. I tried my best to persuade her for a few other themes but she wasn't having it. Then remembered that's right its her party so she gets to choose :-) Here is the beginning to all my decision making coming to an end :-(

I ordered adorable invitations. From Etsy of course and once they are mailed I will post. They are soo cute! I will definitely be using this Etsy seller again! So awesome!

I don't know what is going on with me, maybe because its a new year but I am in decorating mode. I am ready to finish up the finishing touches on the house. But let me tell you I have a longggg list! I guess room by room...

First check out this cool name monogram... I am thinking for the top of our stairs. Now I just need to choose which one. I am leaning towards the second one though. I love Etsy!!

As you can tell I am obsessed with these vinyl decals... I am also looking to order one for the kitchen over the door way. It needs something and was thinking this would work perfect!

I know like over kill on these decals but just love them... I am even going to add one to our staircase. I think it will be cute with my million in one pictures in our staircase!

Our Kitchen has a long counter. I have been debating whether or not to get bar stools but I am thinking of going for it. I think it will give it a finishing touch, not to mention then the girls can have breakfast here. Instead of destroying the ktichen table before school :-)

My dining room too has been lacking some "decor", I have finally decided that I am ordering a ladder/bookcase for the corner to the right of the curtains. I think it will be a great finishing touch. And of course more places to put pictures :-)

New Year = New Projects

Well on my hubby's week off last week he decided that he was going to paint the master bathroom. It was supposed to be a little project but is turning into a big ordeal. He thought I said I wanted to replace the mirrors (when I really didn't), and now since he took down the old ones they can't go back up since they were GLUED on, yea the builders are dumb. So we have been on a hunt for mirrors. We have been EVERYWHERE and have only been able to find one that works. So we are still searching. My bathroom is a DISASTER and I can't wait until its all finished! I would post pictures except for the fact that I can barely even walk in there :-(

Well in searching for these mirrors I have purchased a few other home decor pieces. I am trying to finish up decorating the house but I am not sure it will ever be finished. But at least a girl can hope :-)

Are the holidays really over? I am totally not liking this at all. That means back to 5 day work weeks and no more holiday activities, booo!!! My house is even de-christmastized (is that even a word?). Booo!!! My house looks so naked without the Christmas decor. I want to put it back up. :-)

I didn't get to blog much last week. I was off from work so I enjoyed time with the hubby and the girls. We were pretty busy everyday but it was full of fun stuff! It was much needed and I will definitely be taking off from work that same week this year. I loved having the time off after Christmas!

I didn't take too many pictures last week but I did snap a few of our play date with the Hinken family! We went to Max & Oli's Playhouse and then came back to our house for lunch and the kids got to play more. It was great getting to see them. We definitely need to do that again soon!

Well it's official... the holiday season is over. I dropped off my little sister at the bus station this evening to head back to South Carolina to finish her last 7 weeks of boot camp. Its so bittersweet. I am going to miss her soooo much and can't wait to see her in February! I know she is going to do awesome!

I have been trying to keep up on the blog but of course I have failed :-(. On Saturday, my sister surprised me on my front door step. She came home from boot camp for the holidays. Yep its that time of year. So much to do and just not enough time. Next week is Christmas and I have still not taken the girls to see Santa :-( Its on the agenda for tonight so I am hoping we actually make it. We have been non stop around here. We have a busy weekend ahead but its filled with all fun holiday stuff!

How do you all survive the holiday craziness? I am a pretty organized person but this year has totally snuck up on me. The move I am sure has a lot to do with it but that should be no excuse since we moved in August but for some reason that has thrown me totally off :-( Payten's birthday party is in 2 months and I haven't made one decision about it :-(. I have contacted two places to have it at now just waiting for the details of them. Hopefully I will get at least that narrowed down so I can order then invites!

The hubby and I got to enjoy an adult only night out. Its the first one we have had together since JUNE! Yes 6 months ago! Crazy right?! It can't be Friday already I still have so much to do! This week just flew by! I guess its because we are so busy. Its non stop around here lately. I wish this month would slow down because it is by far my favorite time of the year.

We have a super busy weekend ahead of us! Tonight it starts off with a Christmas celebration with the Ellison family, tomorrow morning Taylor's 6th Birthday Party, Gala in the evening with my hubby, Sunday morning Lilli's 4th Birthday Party, and a Christmas celebration with the Berry family. Lots of fun things that's for sure! We are looking forward to spending the weekend with great friends!

Any plans for the weekend?

Relaxing Weekend

This was the first weekend in forever that we hung home and relaxed. It was much needed especially with the crazy weekends ahead. We will be non-stop til the new year!

Friday evening the hubby worked late, so the girls and I jumped into our pj's after dinner and made some Christmas ornaments. I almost was tempted to let them paint them but then realized I was asking for a disaster. After the ornaments were finished we snuggled on the couch and watched Shrek the Halls. I think we have seen that movie at least 20 times already this holiday season!

Saturday was another relaxing day. Saturday morning I took Payten to dance class and then we met up with some friends at Panera for lunch. We were home by 1p and napping by 2p, it was great! The hubby worked Saturday night as well so the girls and I enjoyed our girls night. Popped some popcorn, played, watched a movie and just hung out. It was a perfect Saturday evening!

I have been promising Payten for weeks that we would make the gingerbread houses that I had bought a while ago. I wanted to wait for the hubby since he is always so good with this stuff. So Sunday was a gingerbread making, football watching kind of day. The girls had lots of fun and I am sure we'll be making many more of these in the future!

I have been Black Friday shopping for the past 4 years or so and this year was by far the BEST year of deals! I walked out of both Target and Toys R Us with a cart full of toys and spent about $100/$120. Not to mention the awesome deal at ToysRUs, 82 diapers for $10!!! I was able to get most of the girls Christmas shopping done with the exception of a few things. This is not all that I got but a few of things. I am hoping next year is just as good! Opening the stores at 9p on Thursday night was a great idea. I think it definitely motivated more people to shop!

It was a great long weekend! It was busy and relaxing at the same time, does that even make sense? Haha. Our Thanksgiving was really nice. Nice and low key. The Smith family joined us this year. The girls had a blast playing together while the adults enjoyed plotting out our Black Friday shopping. {More about that in another post}. I did mange to get a few pictures of the girls in their adorable Thanksgiving shirts. I love these little cuties with all my heart. I am so thankful for them!! Sunday we met up with my parents & my sister at the Lowry Park Zoo. This was the girls first time to the zoo and they LOVED it! Payten was oooing and ahhing the whole time. It was too cute. Camryn didn't say to much she was just taking it all in. We had a great last day with my sister before she heads off to boot camp to serve in the US Army. She loves the Zoo so we figured it would be a great way to spend her last day before she leaves and she loved it!

We had a fun weekend! We started it out by heading to Shrek the Halls at Gaylord Palms Hotel. It is amazing! The ice sculptures are out of this world. The details are incredible! Payten loved it, especially the slide part and well Camryn not so much. She could have done without it. She spent most of the afternoon in her daddy's arms. She did manage to go down the slide once but after she realized how cold it was she was over the whole thing. It was pretty chilly in there but it was worth it for the fun!

Okay who else is a Black Friday shopping freak like me?! I have been doing it for years and just love it! The thrill of it is so much fun! I am already plotting out my game plan and what I'll be getting. Of course most things are for the girls, as always but its soo much fun. We are also on a hunt for a new artificial Christmas tree, a big one since our ceilings are pretty high in the new house. I heard there are pretty good deals on Black Friday, so we'll see!

I am sure I will venture to the mall as well but it just depends on the crowds. Most of the time I head home for a quick power nap and back out I go again. :-) I am so excited and I still have a whole week! :-)

The girls 1st day at their new school went great!!! Both girls loved it. I had no doubt about Payten. She was so proud of her "noodle" necklace she made :-) Since it was their 1st full day we decided to head over to ChickFilA for family night.

Camryn is growing out of her convertible car seats so I have been looking into the booster seats and I am thinking of going with the Graco 3 in 1. Does anyone have any experience with this one? Of course I am going with the pink color :-) My girls gotta have pink, hehe!

It seems like its going to be a busy week around here. Although I feel like I am coming down with a stomach bug, I certainly hope not because I don't have time for that :-( Mommy's don't get sick days :-(

1st Day of School

The girls first morning before school went really well. Is it possible for them all to go this smooth?! Probably not so much but it sure would be nice! Breakfast, getting dressed, getting loaded in the car... it all went smooth. It was a great way to start the day!

I even managed to get a picture of both girls this morning. I love them so much!! Drop off even went really well. Camryn shed a few tears but by the time we dropped off Payten and made our way back through the hall by Camryn's classroom she was tear free, yay!!! I can't wait to hear all about their first day! Happy Monday!

Weekend

This was the first weekend in FOREVER that we actually didn't have ANY plans! It was great! We totally need to do this more often! We finally got around to organizing the closets upstairs and getting our garage put together. It was a mess! I can't believe we have lived here 3 months already. Time is flying. Of course there is still lots to do but now with the holidays coming up I am thinking it'll be a bit before we get to any of it. But thats okay I am looking forward to all the holiday fun with the hubby and girls.

Speaking of.... next weekend we are going to Gaylord Palm for the ICE show! This is our first year going. The girls are super excited!

We have a busy week ahead. Tomorrow is the girls first day at their new school. I'm hoping all goes well, stay tuned. We have family pictures on Thursday, can't wait! This past weekend was the last weekend to spend quality time with my sister before she heads out for boot camp in two weeks. So I decided she needed a night out with some fun. We started off at Fridays for a few drinks and appetizers. Then we headed to a bar/club. It was a great night of laughing and dancing. I am truly going to miss her, and hoping the next four years won't seem like eternity!

Of course I have been taking pictures like crazy of her with the girls. This is just one of my many I took all weekend.

Tough Decisions

Being a parent comes with a lot of tough decisions. The girls started their new school about three months ago. In the beginning things were going really well. But over the past three months I have saw about 8 teachers quit. Yes 8! Clearly something is not right if all these teachers are quitting. My last straw was last Payten's assistant teacher left, and now this week Payten's head teacher has put her notice in. After much discussion the hubby and I have decided that its best if we switch schools. Obviously something is going on there and I don't want my girls to get caught in the middle. Although I do have to say Camryn's teachers are awesome and we are sad to leave them. :-( I hope she has just as good teachers over at her new school.

Well of course with a new school that comes more expenses. Especially for Payten. New uniforms... ahhh. The new school's uniform attire is navy shirts and khaki bottoms. All have been ordered and hopefully they will arrive in time for her first day on the 14th.

I am sure I will be posting lots of updates as the girls transition to the new school, especially since they will be going full time!

The girls had a cute little parade at school on Monday for Halloween. It was so fun watching all of them show off their adorable costumes. When Payten's class come out it was hysterical because there were FOUR Snow White's in her class, and she was one of them. I guess Snow White was a big hit this year?! I love all of the little events at their school. It's always so fun!

What a great night for Trick or Treating. Not too hot and not too cold. Although I could do without the mosquitoes! They are quite annoying especially since its October! The girls had a lot of fun tonight. Camryn was totally into it this year! It's crazy how much my girls have changed since last Halloween! Payten is already plotting out what she wants to be for next Halloween. That girl is just too much! Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Believe it or not I carved my first pumpkin with the girls the other night. Well.. okay I didn't carve the whole thing myself, just the top and eyes and gave up. Its hard work. So super husband/dad came to the rescue and finished it up :-) Isn't he super cute? We are hoping to carve a few others this weekend.

I promised the girls if they were good for pictures I would take them to Max & Oli's Playhouse. Yes I totally bribed them but it worked :-) So yesterday afternoon we headed over there for some afternoon fun. They both LOVE this place. I have to admit it is really fun! I have a funny feeling we will be there a lot this winter, especially since its only 5 minutes from our house :-)

That is what I am constantly doing these days... just going and going! It's another crazy week around here. Lots going on and just not enough hours in the day!

I am trying to get things together for our annual Kids Halloween Costume party. Ever since being sick my motivation has been lacking, so its been a struggle lately. But it will get done, it might be Friday night but it will :-)

Yesterday afternoon we had a mini photo session with Laynie Harris Photography. Laynie is a old co-worker of mine and it was soo great to see her. I can't wait to see the girls pictures!!

Tomorrow we are heading to another fall festival in town. We went to this one last year and the girls had a blast so its a must go. I'm just hoping the weather stays cool.

In the midst of the craziness I get to pick up my baby sister tomorrow from Tampa as she will be living with us a bit before she heads out to boot camp next month. I can't wait to spend time with her!!! But I sure will miss her when she leaves :-(

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we had our annual pumpkin patch visit. As you can tell from the photos it was quite a challenge to get both girls to look at the camera and smile. Maybe by next year we'll actually get one?! We met up with the Hinken & Berry family. Our visit was cut short my cranky kiddies but we still had a good time. Payten of course wanted to walk out with 100 pumpkins. We are loving this cooler weather and hoping it sticks around for a while!

West Orlando Fall Festival

I can't believe I am actually posting on the actual day we attended something. This is a big first for me lately. Things have been quite crazy so blogging has taken a back burner :-(

Today was a busy day. We started it at First Watch for breakfast with the Berry Family, then Payten and I went to dance. We headed home for a bit then met up with the Ellison's and Hinken's for some fall fun at the West Orlando Baptist Church's fall festival. This is our 3rd year going and it was a lot of fun! I am loving all of these festivals, even they exhaust me! Hope everyone is enjoying all the fall activities as much as we are!

As you can see Camryn was not a fan of the scarecrow :-(

Halloween already?!

How can it be Halloween next week already?! Where did this month go?! So crazy! This year we will be hosting another Kid Costume Party. I am usually prepared for events but not this time. With being sick last week it totally set me back. Camryn still needs shoes for her costume, and I need to work on some little details for the party. I am hoping to have some free time this weekend but we'll see. I am praying for no rain next Saturday since we are having a bounce house for the kids.

Does anyone have any idea fun ideas for the Halloween party? I do have a craft for the kids, and I usually do a pinata but thinking of for going it this year. So looking for at least one more activity.

What is everyone being for Halloween? Payten is going to be Snow White, and Camryn is going to be a fairy! I can't wait to see my little peanuts all dressed up!

Green Meadows Farm

Payten and I joined a group of our friends for a fun fall day at Green Meadows farm. Payten loved all of the animals. She wasn't always a fan of holding them herself but loved petting them all. Her favorite was of course the pony rides and holding the baby chick. I am bummed Camryn missed out so we will definitely be going back soon. Thank you Lena for setting up this fun day!

Holy Family Festival!

This weekend was Holy Family's Annual Fall Festival. Last year was our first year going and we had a blast so we knew this year was a must. Camryn missed out since she was sick but Payten had a blast. She rode ride after ride and won lots of prizes and even FIVE goldfish. :-) I am hoping next year everyone will be well so we can all go together!

Sickies!

Just when I get back to blogging we get a HORRID case of the sickies in the house. Of course I had it the worst. I had a fever for SIX days straight, even landed myself in the ER on Wednesday evening since my fever was 103.5. It was quite scary. After 6 hours in the ER they were finally able to get my fever down. I am still not a 100% yet but hoping in the next few days I will be good as new. Now of course the girls have caught it. Camryn caught it Saturday, and spent the weekend home with her Daddy. And now Payten is going through it. She still has a fever but I am hoping it breaks today.

I have lots to blog about so hopefully I can catch up soon! Happy Tuesday!

Get ready for the photo overload!!! Camryn's 2nd birthday party was this weekend, and even though it rained ALL weekend we didn't let that get in the way of our fun! We improvised and did some games and crafts, had a face painter so the kids had a blast! Thank you everyone that came to celebrate Camryn's special day with her! Still can't believe she is 2! And as you can see she still doesn't like the whole singing Happy Birthday thing :-/... maybe next year!

Our new house is really starting to come along. Day by day our "to-do list" is getting shorter! Thank goodness, because I am ready to just relax on the weekends and not make another trip to Lowes :-) Although I know the hubby loves the Lowes trips! One of our final projects for a while will be to clean up the front landscaping then we will be taking a break from house projects til the Spring. It's almost time to focus on the holidays coming up! I can't wait! It's my favorite time of the year!

Is the weekend really over?! It feels like it just got started! They fly by way too fast!!!

My girls night went great Friday night. It was nice to have an adult night for once. Those nights are few and far between so when they do actually happen its lots of fun!

Saturday morning we started off by bringing Payten to dance class. I had Camryn with me that morning while the hubby went to the old house to get the girls swing set. Apparently Camryn was still not feeling well and she was miserable!!! We came home, had lunch and the girls went down for a nap. We were supposed to go to a birthday party in the late afternoon but Camryn was just miserable. :-( We spent Saturday evening home relaxing with the girls.

Yesterday we celebrated Addison's special day with her. It was her Baptism day. We had such a good time with her and her family. Beautiful day for a beautiful little girl!

Can't believe the weekend is over already but looking forward to this coming weekend! Camryn is turning 2! I still can't believe it! Lots to do before her big party :-)

It's going to be another busy weekend! Tonight I am having a girls night, hosting a Thirty One party! I absolutely love these bags! So of course I wanted to let my friends check them out! Saturday morning Payten has dance class, then we are heading to Disney to celebrate Kennedy's 2nd Birthday! Sunday we are celebrating a special day with Addison, she is getting christened!!! It's going to be a fun weekend!
